SACID is set to celebrate its biggest ever Leading Through Inclusion Conference next week!

The Conference is the largest annual gathering of people with intellectual disability, their families and caregivers and community supporters in South Australia.

Over 250 people have registered to attend. It will be a place for people with intellectual disability to be seen, be heard, and be understood.

The theme this year is My Health My Way.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Hon. Nat Cook, Minister for Human Services and Minister for Seniors and Ageing Well.
  • Jim Simpson from the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health.

Special Olympics and Restless Dance Theatre will also host interactive come and try activities.

“Every year the SACID Conference gets bigger and better! We are so proud that people with intellectual disability and their families and caregivers get this opportunity to come for free to this huge event. For many of us, it is the highlight of our year,” says Felicity Crowther, SACID Executive Director.

On Thursday 6 June, the party will continue with a Disco Dinner. It is an inclusive night for people of all abilities to enjoy food, music and friendship.
