REFERENCE GROUP

THE SACID REFERENCE GROUP

The SACID Reference Group is a sub-committee of the SACID Board.

All members of the SACID Reference Group have intellectual disability.

The Reference Group members give advice and direction to the Board about what is important to them.

They also give feedback about new resources, project ideas and share their personal experiences.

The Reference Group have also been involved in:

  • Consultations with government departments,
  • Consultations about the NDIS home and living and supported decision making,
  • Provided feedback on the review of different legislations 
  • Written letters to government bodies such as South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT) and Office of the Public Advocate (OPA)

The Reference Group members help to make sure that the work SACID does is relevant to people with intellectual disability and their families.

I like getting to see what is happening at the Reference Group.

 

In my spare time I like:

  • Painting.
  • Watching Netflix.
  • Diamond painting.
  • Playing on my phone.

I like to meet friends. I also like to support people with a disability to live a happy life.

 

In my spare time I like:

  • Playing games.
  • Watching movies.
  • Spending time with my family.

I like helping people and getting information about NDIS.

 

In my spare time I like:

  • Ten pin bowling.
  • Meeting people.

This year with the SACID Reference Group I liked meeting people with different disabilities, supporting each other, it’s really fun, I’ve been blessed to be a leader.

What I like about the Reference Group…

I like the Reference Group because we all get together to talk about different topics.

I think the Reference Group is a good opportunity for people with intellectual disability to get to know each other and to get resources to learn from.

  • Playing with remote control hobby cars.
  • Working on cars.
